The Geiger Manufacturing Blend
Geiger built an early reputation as one of the finest wood furniture manufacturers in North America.

As the company grew, it transferred the characteristics of individually-constructed high-quality office furniture to a mass-production method. This method requires discipline to meet the product engineering, scheduling, and rigorous costing procedures integral to a successful production line while maintaining the flexibility of product design and choice of options that customers demand.

The result is Geiger's unique manufacturing methodology. Craftspeople of experience, assisted by trained apprentices, work using state-of-the-art electronic machine tools to produce products of unvarying quality and refinement, in any quantity or mix the customer requires.

The Art and Science of Wood Manufacturing
Architecturally select veneers are sliced from large logs to provide wide, patterned "leaves" for uniform application to furniture. These leaves of veneer have excellent consistency of grain and color and are free from common imperfections. When flat-cut to Geiger's rigorous specifications, premium select veneer grains embody beautiful cathedrals, ellipses, and ovals that are characteristic of each hardwood, and unattainable through artificial veneers. Veneered and solid wood surfaces are finished with stains that enhance - never mask - the natural qualities of the wood. Urethane, the hardest and most durable of all finishes, is applied as a topcoat to all Geiger stains. It protects furniture against spills, abrasions, heat, and the harmful effects of direct sunlight or other ultraviolet light.

Finishes
Finish materials have great impact on the long-term enjoyment and value of Geiger furniture. Geiger's specially formulated urethane finish is substantially more resistant to chemicals than catalyzed lacquer and contains none of the formaldehyde found in conversion varnishes. It requires no maintenance, except for the occasional wipe with a damp cloth, minimizing the long-term cost of ownership. Urethane's superior adhesion also prevents delamination of layers of finish, ensuring the long-lasting beauty of Geiger furnishings.
